Lakers Out From The Semis
Thursday, May 03, 2007
With lost of Lakers to Suns 119-110 this Wednesday night, my hope for Kobe breaking some more records went down to doom. The Suns never trailed and lead the game all the way. They knew that Lakers would come back in second round. Amare Stoudemire said, “It was a desperate game for them, so you knew they would fight back in the second half.” But no matter what tactics Lakers used, the Suns were able to beat there every move. The game consisted of lots of free throws by the Suns that night, mostly Stoudemire with 21 free throws. He was able to make 15 of his attempts. Stoudemire had 27 points and 16 rebounds for this game.Bryant scored 34 but it was not just enough. It was just 13-33 from the field. May be the happy and proud new father, Raja Bell, was too much determined to defense Bryant this night. Bell’s wife gave birth to their first child just six hours before the tipoff of this game.
So, Lakers go down and would have to wait for next season for trying for NBA Championship while the Suns advances to one step forward to the Western Conference semifinal match up to Round 2 where they will face San Antonio Spurs, who eliminated Denver in five games.
